I am not super social either, but liked this kind of special friendship. I don't know if it's a Gen X thing, but my theory is Gen X experienced it way more than Millennials did (or for longer) and more than Gen Zers ever will. Though Gen Z has relationships online - I get it. It's just a piece about my experience and what it meant to me - and guessing there are others out there - perhaps middle-age, who spent decades in an office - who feel the same.
