Interesting perspective. I rarely saw what you are describing - but know it goes on! What I am talking about, have experienced and heard others experience is where the work "spouse" was strictly platonic. Seriously. Though what you are talking about sounds like another (and juicier) article! I'd also add sometimes the Work Spouse was a nice sounding board for relationship issue or gave a man's perspective - like a good friend would do.
